Out with the old, in with the new, right? That is how the change from December 31 to January 1 always seems to be thought of: goodbye to what was, and hello to what is. That’s true to life, liberty, and the pursuit of the New Year’s expected RV trends. And boy, does 2025 have a lot of trends for show and tell sessions!

From sliding decks on travel trailers and destination trailers to bunkhouse layouts to the top travel trailer brands in the upcoming year’s market, there are lots of surprises and amazing additions just waiting to be explored.  Let’s take a look!

Predicted Sales for 2025

While RV trips and sales were boosted greatly during the pandemic, the trend has remained prominent over the past four years as well. According to the RV Industry Association, (RVIA), the projected unit range will rise to reach the mid-300,000 mark throughout the new year. That’s up from the projected 324,000 for the closing curtain on 2024 as well as the previous number of 2023.

“Persistent high interest rates have been a headwind for the RV market but we are optimistic that shipments will remain steady over the coming months before gaining more traction next year,” said RV Industry Association President & CEO Craig Kirby. “There continues to be strong consumer interest in RV travel and camping and as interest rates ease the RV industry is well-positioned to gain ground.

Another stat from the RVIA’s forecast for 2025 is the range of potential sales, that range between 329,000 to 362,300. And, with all the new trends, toys and amenities, it’s no wonder why RV sales are predicted to be hot this year.

Bunkhouses

This is a fantastic solution for a family that travels together. With so many families full-time RVers, many homeschooling their children, its no surprise that the layout has changed to accommodate more than two passengers. Bunk beds, extra storage and USB charging ports are a few extra amenities included to keep the kids happy.

Another addition that is quite helpful to the family that travels together? A built-in desk, of course. Space for kids to do homework or play games on their tablets, craft time, etc. Just as convenient for a parent who wants to work on lesson plans or the family budget.

While some are hidden, other desks are larger in size. A variety of styles and sizes that can be chosen for all size families, couples and single road warriors.

Must-Have Amenities

So, what are the new trends that are projecting high sales numbers? Well, some manufacturers have realized that bigger is better when talking electronics, voice activation options and kitchen appliances.

Keeping it Hot-or Cold

Gone are the days of small, dorm size fridges. Instead, in 2025, buyers can expect 12-volt fridges that are 20-cubic-feet, complete with French refrigerator doors along with dual freezer trays. Want more? How about an ice maker included? Consider it done.  All the extra bells and whistles? They can be found within these full-size models as well.

Another amenity featured prominently in 2025 models is modern cooking appliances. While these new options do come with a bit of power challenge, it can be a game changer for those who love to cook meals while on the road.

Many of the new RV units feature a variation of the convection air fryer microwave. Bake, reheat, air fryer, all from one convenient appliance. As mentioned, there’s a down side and in this instance, its that these power machines run on 120vac household power. A generator, strong inverter or shore power is required to cook with ease.

More Chef Inventions

Also, in the kitchen department, there are in-line, two-burner cooktops as well as an all-electric convection oven/stove combo that takes up the same amount of space as the 17-inch propane oven. The differences are that the new oven/stove combo provides more space on the inside and removes the hot spots featured by the propane option. The downside, once again, is selecting a proper power source.

For propane fans, no need to worry. Some RV models still feature large propane overs, and of those, a few were the 22-inch type. This provides a nice balance of natural power and functionality.

Kickin It With New RV Trends

Relaxation after a day of driving or exploration is a lot easier in most 2025 models as well, thanks to smart TVs being added. Sure, this isn’t new, but what is new? Designers have included many that were 12-volt TVs. No more inverters or generators are needed. And the price range of smart TV models hit both ends of the spectrum, as well as everything in between.

Voice-Activated Control System

The new models of Rockwood’s Geo-Pro travel trailers offer this innovative upgrade. Built by WFCO Technologies, the POWER PRO voice-activated control system works for the water pump and water heater, the inside lights, awnings and slide-outs. The system also provides real-time updates to keep the journey eventful, with few bumps in the road, so to speak. Keep track of important maintenance tasks, with alerts pertaining to the levels of the holding tank, remaining battery power, straight through the app added to phones or tablets.

Additional personalizing options via the app include presetting lighting areas, alerts, as well as the tank and battery alerts and various other settings.

Grand Design First-Ever Motorhome in 2025

When we think of Grand Design, we know they have been building high-quality fifth wheels and travel trailers for years. This New Year brings about the option to purchase the first model available from the company-the Lineage Series M 25FW.

Eight exterior color possibilities, innovative additions such as headrest gun safes, a king-size bed and theater seating are a few of the exciting amenities and personalization options within Grand Design’s newest model.

Featuring more floor space thanks to a deeper, 40-inch slide, modern air venting and movement for comfort over the cabover bunk, and a solar package that increases ease and longevity of remote stays, new buyers can easily appreciate this brand-new model from a well-known manufacturer.

Destination Trailers

For those who choose to stay firm at a seasonal location, the new 2025 models of destination trailers will excite you. From larger spaces to two loft areas, hidden shelves behind fireplaces to showers with a seat, and from dual entry doors to ceiling fans, there are plenty of new amenities to make your home-away-from-home seem more like your everyday home.

Oversized tinted windows and a sofa are a few nice amenities with the newest Jay Flight Bungalow from Jayco. Additionally, this 2025 model offers a built-in entertainment center, solid surface countertop and hardwood cabinet doors and drawers.

Other hot brands to consider for the new year’s models include the Wildwood VERANDA destination trailers. With the built-in outdoor kitchen, a covered patio accessed via a sliding glass door, and a trio of tricks installed within the outdoor kitchen: a plumbed sink, dedicated storage and a built-in griddle; this model is going to be a great choice for an extended staycation.

Whether for a weekend jaunt, a month-long getaway or a nearly permanent, seasonal stay at your favorite campground, manufacturers of the 2025 models have certainly stepped up their game. This article serves as a preview of travel trends expected throughout the RV universe within 2025 and also highlights the fact that these new models are luxury-glam and family-friendly.
