2025 RV Innovations: Cutting-Edge Features You Can’t Miss!
Now that we’re well into the new year, we’ve had a chance to see some of the newest RV innovations of 2025. Unfortunately, there aren’t as many game-changing RV innovations out there this year as there have been in recent years past. Still, there are a few excellent features and amenities that definitely deserve a mention.
Some of the 2025 RV innovations are huge changes that have been a long time coming. Others are smaller but still might make a big difference to you, depending on your camping style. Why not take a look and see if any of these amenities can up your camping game?
More Solar and Electric
The recent 2024 RV SuperShow made it crystal clear that solar power systems and all-electric RVs are here to stay. While we didn’t see any new RVs with electric drivetrains make their debut this year, we are definitely closer to seeing such rigs—like the Winnebago eRV2, announced in 2022—hit the market.
What we are seeing in the here and now however are more and more RVs that come equipped with a factory-installed solar power system. Most of these are expandable for those who do a lot of boondocking, making comfortable off-grid camping more accessible to more RVers. This is definitely a trend we appreciate, and it’s something you should look for in any new trailer or motorhome you buy.
Another feature that seems to be catching on in 2025? All-electric trailers, such as the all-electric A-liner Amp, which includes lithium batteries and solar panels. It’s also very lightweight, meaning it will pair well with an electric vehicle.
Honestly, we aren’t sure how we feel about the trend of taking propane stovetops, ovens, furnaces, and fridges out of RVs. Sometimes propane-powered appliances are the right tool for the job. That said, we definitely love the direction the industry is going with making solar panels and lithium batteries standard.

ABS Brakes for Towable RVs
Solar power systems are pretty awesome, and the trend of adding solar in the factory has definitely caught on this year, even though such advances aren’t actually brand new in 2025.
So, let’s talk about something that debuted at this year’s SuperShow and has never been seen before (though maybe it should have existed before now): ABS brakes for towable RVs.
These days, ABS brakes have to come standard in passenger vehicles by law. Unfortunately, the same is not true for travel trailers and fifth wheels, and the fact that ABS brakes haven’t even been an option for towable RVs until now is just crazy.
Without ABS brakes, trailers are much more likely to fishtail and pull the entire rig out of control if you need to make a quick stop or sudden turn. ABS brakes remove this issue and ensure your trailer follows you no matter how quickly you make a move. We are confident this 2025 RV innovation is going to save many lives in the coming years.
The technology for ABS trailer brakes was developed by well-known company Lippert, and has been installed on Keystone’s 2024 Cougar fifth wheels. It should be coming to more RVs in the near future, so definitely check for this feature when shopping for a new RV.
E-Bike Storage
On a more fun note, we have to mention the new Keystone Montana 3623EB. For the most part, this is a normal Montana trailer, with all the same features and comforts you’d expect from such a rig. And it’s totally great for that, if not exactly all-around innovative.
That said, the innovative portion comes into play when you realize that the “EB” in the model number stands for electric bike!
No, this trailer doesn’t include an electric bike, but what it does include is almost as cool. With this fifth wheel, you’ll never have to worry about how to store your electric bikes again, because it has a built-in e-bike garage.
The garage is its own separate slide and completely separated from the rest of the rig, so you won’t lose any living space for having it. There is an exterior door to access the slide, and a super sturdy e-bike ramp can unfold and slide into a ramp to make getting your bike in and out of the garage a cinch. The rack has tracks for two bikes, and both the bikes and the ramp lock into place for travel so you don’t have to worry about things moving around in there.
This garage could also be used without the dedicated bike rack to house kayaks or even regular bikes. No matter what you store there, you’re sure to love that it’s out of the elements and safe from theft.
Class B Passenger Seat Bed
We have to start this section by letting you all know that the beloved Westfalia campervan is back! The updated version of the van is making its North America debut this year and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
Sure, we’re excited because we’ll be seeing an updated version of the classic Westfalia hit the roads of the US, but even more than that, we’re excited about what this updated van has to offer.
You see, one of the biggest problems with campervans is that the vast majority of them really aren’t made with families in mind. This is fine if you’re a solo traveler or a couple, but what about those adventure families out there? The ones who want a nimble camping vehicle that can access those hard-to reach places and fit in the smaller parking spots? This is where the new Westfalia Wave comes into play.
This incredible van features a forward-facing traditional-style backseat with two seatbelts, meaning you can buckle the kids up safely and even install car seats. What makes this back seat extra cool is that it folds down flat, and the back of the seat actually becomes a comfortable twin-size bed that can sleep a full grown adult. You aren’t sleeping on the seat upholstery either;this thing puts you on a totally flat sleeping surface with a dedicated bed mattress!
This amazing fold-down bed can be used in conjunction with a queen-size dinette bed in the back of the van, as well as the beloved Westfalia loft bed in the classic pop-top, meaning you’ll be able to sleep up to six people.
If you’ve been longing for a functional campervan with seatbelts and beds for the whole family, this is it!
Redesigned Anderson Ultimate Fifth Wheel Hitch
Last on our list of RV innovations in 2025 is the redesigned Anderson Ultimate Fifth Wheel Hitch.
In our opinion, this hitch was pretty awesome to begin with, its main selling point being that it is made with aluminum, making it super light in comparison to other fifth wheel hitches. This means your hitch takes up less of your total carrying capacity. It also means you can easily remove the hitch from the bed of your truck when needed.
Unfortunately, the original Anderson Ultimate Fifth Wheel Hitch was met with a lot of controversy. Many people felt the hitch wasn’t safe, as it is made with aluminum and the ball has a tendency to wiggle. While the old version of this hitch is almost certainly 100% safe, Anderson heard these concerns and decided to do a redesign.
The new hitch features thicker tubing and no wiggle from the ball whatsoever. It has also undergone rigorous safety testing and holds a certification proving its safety. The aluminum used is (and always has been) aircraft-grade aluminum, meaning it is not going to bend, buckle, or break despite being relatively lightweight.
Other upgrades include the fact that the hitch is narrower overall and that it can be raised or lowered, making it one-size-fits all.
Keep your Eyes Open for more RV Innovations
We may not have seen a lot of amazing RV innovations in 2025 so far, but the few we have seen are pretty cool. We love that ABS trailer brakes and the redesigned Anderson Ultimate Fifth Wheel Hitch will make towing safer than ever, and we imagine a good number of families will appreciate the Westfalia Wave. The e-bike garage offered by Keystone is just perfect, and of course, we adore that we are seeing more and more RVs with factory-installed solar systems.
