Verbal Opt-In Documentation – National Vehicle
Opt-In Process Overview
National Vehicle collects verbal consent from customers before sending any SMS messages related to their account and active listings. Consent is obtained during a phone conversation with the customer by a member of our Sales and Support team. This ensures that the customer understands:
- The nature and purpose of the messages.
- The expected frequency.
- That message and data rates may apply.
- How to opt out at any time.
Sample Verbal Consent Script
“As part of our service, we can send you automated text alerts regarding your National Vehicle listing. We will send messages periodically to keep you up to date on activities related your listing and when someone makes an offer on your vehicle. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out anytime by replying STOP. Do I have your permission to send you these text messages?”
If the customer verbally agrees, the opt-in is recorded in our CRM with the date, time, and the representative’s name.
Example Initial Message After Verbal Opt-In

“Welcome to the National Vehicle text messaging service. You will receive text messages from our Sales and Support team to keep you updated on your National Vehicle listing. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.”
